Performance
The New Explorer has three engines: a 2.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, a 3.0-liter V6, and a 3.3-liter V6 hybrid powertrain. The four-cylinder engine is the base engine, and it provides plenty of power for everyday driving, where it churns 300 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque. The V6 engine is more powerful, producing 400 horsepower and 415 pound-feet of torque, and it's a good choice for those who need more towing capacity. The hybrid powertrain is the most fuel-efficient option as it churns 318 horsepower and 322 pound-feet of torque and is a good choice for those who want to save money on gas.
